Who We Are
Helen Hutchings
Founder
Fave holiday: The 24 day trip we made to Peru, Machu Pichu, Galapagos & Ecuador, but the highlight was the 5 days spent in the Amazon jungle.
Would love to visit: The Great Wall of China.
Top packing tip: I always pack a pashmina - it's so versatile keeping me warm, covered if needed and can glitz up an outfit for the evening.
I love to travel, especially if it means exploring a new destination. But I was increasingly frustrated that whenever we went away I would spend hours if not days trying to find out what we should pack. With past experience of bulging suitcases and bringing home piles of unworn clothes, I didn't want to pack lots of things we wouldn't need only to find I'd omitted some real essentials. After hours of tracking down friends who had visited the area or trawling websites, I would hope I'd got it right but so often wished there was one website where I could get the information really easily...
...and so WhatToWearOnHoliday.com was born!
The advice you see is all based on the personal experience of well-travelled women and men, who have visited each of these destinations and noted what they felt most (or perhaps more importantly least) - comfortable in. Their experiences will make packing easy for you, and it's so rewarding to hear your packing 'success stories'!

Creative Design & Techy Stuff
Fave holiday: Cruise of USA/Canada eastern seaboard.
Would love to visit: Norwegian Fjords, Valencia, Alaska.
Top packing tip: Stuff socks inside shoes - it saves space and also keeps your shoes in shape.
I provide the visual and techy input, working with Helen to turn the advice we receive into a friendly and helpful website.
It's been great to see the site grow from Helen's original idea into such a huge resource for travellers all over the world - the response has been amazing!

Travel Health Advisor
Fave holiday: The Okavango Delta, Botswana. It's beautiful, edgy and about as different from life at home as it's possible to get.
Would love to visit: Any place I can see the Northern Lights; the backwaters of Kerala, and almost any wildlife-viewing trip would appeal to me.
Top packing tip: As many things as possible to stop sunburn and insect bites - like clothes! Brits have a tendency to expose far too much of themselves when the sun comes out. And always 50% DEET for any malarial region. Also, small local currency for tips and pencils or chalks for children's gifts. I take some means of water purification and a flask suitable for the destination so that I don't add to waste by buying lots of plastic bottles, and a hand sanitizer too. You might have guessed - I work in travel healthcare!
