What To Wear In Slovenia
To sum it up - Casual or Smart it's up to you
- For walking, lightweight cotton trousers that dry quickly with detachable legs are useful.
- It's smart but you don't have to be, if you prefer to dress more casually you will feel at ease.
- Jeans are always popular here and, teamed with lighter layers for the summer and warmer ones for the winter, will serve as a versatile base to your wardrobe.
- In the summer the temperatures average 18 – 24C and even in summer the evenings can still be cooler so pack a lightweight jacket or jumper.
- A light raincoat and umbrella are worth packing whatever time of year you visit.
- The sun can be deceptively strong even if the temperature feels cool this is especially so at altitude and on the lakes, we suggest that you use a good quality sunscreen.
- For guys we would recommend including a pair of smarter shoes for evenings.
- Dressing in layers will help you with the temperature changes during the day, whatever time of year you visit.
- Traditionally, Bled was famous as a high class spa resort. Today it has an “up market European” feel coupled with an outdoor element. There are a couple of smart, expensive restaurants, so you may like to pop in a smarter outfit and even a pair of heels for the evening.
- The winters are freezing. From January to February the range is -5 to 7°C. Pack warm layers, thick coat, hat, gloves and scarf. A furry lining or trim will keep you even cozier.
- To keep your feet warm pack boots with a water resistant sole.
