Your thoughts
The tips for Gettysburg were very helpful - thank you. When we arrived in June, we were told it was hotter than usual for the time of year. Shorts and cut offs were very popular for men and women, and some ladies had skirts and dresses. It was still very warm at night and jackets weren't needed (except when the air conditioning in the trolley bus was on too cold!). It was okay for shorts in the evening. A hat was essential for me and a few others, and when out in the sun, I found a thin white cover up shirt very useful. My three quarter length sleeved loose linen blouse was a favourite. I wore sandals for most of the time, but after a day walking around Washington DC at 93F gave me sunburn on top of my foot I put on socks and trainers. Thanks again. Kim UK
