What To Wear In Mustique
To sum it up - Glamorous and casually elegant
- Mustique is one of those casually elegant places which attract people of the same type.
- If you keep “glam” at the back of your mind when packing, you'll come up with exactly the right look.
- Take mainly smart casual outfits.
- Jeans and sports gear would be very out of place here.
- Take a cocktail outfit or two. It's a very smart island - even down to your swimwear.
- You'll feel far more at ease and blend in if you take some dressing up clothes with you.
- The restaurants are mainly within one of the two hotels on the island and these are both very upmarket, so a dress or glamorous trousers will make you feel at your most comfortable.
- The only exception to this is Basil's Bar (Princess Margaret's old haunt).This is on the water's edge and seriously chilled out, so wear what you like here. Shorts are absolutely fine.
- If you decide to visit the capital, St Vincent (a short flight away), you'll find a more casual, relaxed vibe. There are restaurants and bars of all varieties, but the dress code is still smart casual.
- Finally be sure to take insect repellent for sand flies at sunset - or you will get bitten.
